Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-orca

When Loading a page with flash content, Orca stops speaking. I have tried to get to applications menu to log out and back in, but it doesn't work. The only way I have found to get the computer working again is to press ctrl-alt-backspace. It is very easy to duplicate, just have orca running and load any site with audio/video flash content. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. This problem did not happen in 7.10 Gutsy.

I found a work around. If you don't actually need the flash content, you can install the Web Visum plugin. It can be found at:
http://www.webvisum.com/
Once the plugin is installed, it will have a menu under the tool menu in Firefox. In one of the sub menus are the options hide flash content and disable page background sound. I checked both of these and my computer hasn't frozen on flash pages any more.

Is this still an issue with Ubuntu intrepid, or even Ubuntu jaunty?
