Bug Description

1. Software updater says "You can use Livepatch to keep your computer up to date"
2. I click on the Livepatch button
3. Which says I have to log in to my Ubuntu One account
4. Up pops a dialogue box, which allows me to fill in my email and password
5. And no OK button. Hitting [return] doesn't help either. (See image)

I can't log in to get Livepatch!

Hittin Enter, or TAB+Enter should work. It isn't u-c-c bug. The issue is in gnome-online-accounts. For unity, you can run with

GTK_CSD=1 unity-control-center

Changed in unity-control-center (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

Afraid not. I'd already tried that.

It's always hard discovering which program you should be reporting a bug
for. Sometimes impossible.

That works for the control center, but not for the software updater.

For others who end up here unable to activate Livepatch because of this bug, here is how you can activate it from the command line:

1. sudo snap install canonical-livepatch
2. go to https://auth.livepatch.canonical.com and generate a token.
3. sudo canonical-livepatch enable <token>

and you're done.
