gnome-nettool needs root, but has no way to get it

Bug Description
gnome-nettool reports my "Link speed" as "not available", unless I run gnome-nettool as root, yet gnome-nettool has no way I can run it as root via a desktop file. The gnome-nettool package should include a gnome-nettool-
