strip url to domain only

Binary package hint: gnome-nettool

whois doesn't find anything when user ask for i.e. www.seznam.cz

but it works correctly for seznam.cz

so parse written url and find only domain and seach it

whois doesn't show anything either, do you really think that's a bug?

yes that's bug... if application didnot recognize valid data or cannot change data to valid input (before doing whois request), that's bug

how many users known that for whois is needed to write only example.com

but not www.example.com

only programers and power users.... but no-one else

I would argue that matching the behavior of the underlying program, whois, is more important that modifying the user input in this case.
