Bug Description
1. Start video : plays fine.
2. Spacebar to <pause> video : works fine
4. Spacebar to <restart> video : works fine
If however:
5. ">" to <fwd> video : goes okay
6. Spacebar to <pause> video : works fine
7. Spacebar to <restart> video : video stutters
I created an error log (attached) in which I started a video and then:
1. paused and restarted it with the spacebar three times
2. fowarded
3. paused and restarted it with the spacebar three times
Some obvious problems:
# it seems to be looking for options in the directory where the video its playing is located
# it can't find an input.conf file in the user's home directory
# it keeps "trying to enable screensaver" (20 times in this brief test)
# it keeps "trying to disable screensaver" (14 times in this brief test)
# it keeps looking for a video called "filename" in the user directory where it was launched
This is a severe problem for work that requires rapid navigation of video using keyboard shortcuts.
The thing that makes mplayer the greatest media player are its keyboard shortcuts and the faultless control it gives over playback position and speed.
FYI, Nothing like this has occurred in years of operation. It was working fine last week, before a distribution upgrade and fresh install of gnome-mplayer. (Last was about a year ago - I couldn't tell you what version it was, but it was installed from Ubuntu Software Center at the time.).

Stutter occurred also when playing an mp3 without pausing or rwd/fwding play.
It also occurred that I played the same audio file without stutter, even while pausing and doing rwd/fwd during play. So I thought this was not a problem that effected audio. But it did when the same audio was played a second time. So a bit odd, but I've included the error output in case its helpful in diagnosing the wider problem.
