gnome-mplayer crashes when first opened, then when you try to send the apport crash report it closes instead of sending data to launchpad

Bug Description

1) Lubuntu 12.10 i386 final 10-17-2012
2) gnome-mplayer 1.0.6-1
3) Gnome-mplayer is expected to crash when first opened.
4) Gnome-mplayer crashes when first opened producing an apport crash report. Then if press the send button it just closes instead sending to launchpad. But after opening gnome-mplayer the first time it does crash when you open it again.

From what I understand the weird apport behavior should be an apport bug instead.

To debug the gnome-mplayer crash, it'd be nice to get a backtrace.
