Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-mount

When I mount my Dapper partition (ext3) with the new places context menu (MountAllLocalFilesystems) on Feisty Herd 3, the partition just gets an underscore as its name. While I am not sure what its real name is (where can I change it? do ext3 partitions even have names?), an underscore certainly isn't very pretty as a substitute. Why not just keep its size as the name ("51.7 GB volume"), as before the mount or after unmounting?

This needs to be fixed in hal as well (hal-storage-mount.c, "sanitize computed mount point name,").

Ok, it's now saying "51.7 GB volume: disk" when mounted. Thanks for fixing.

Is there any means of (re-)naming volumes in Ubuntu?
