Bug Description

Binary package hint: hal

During backup operations mainly with ntfs files is possible to loose data without system warning advice if device is not properly unplugged before the umount command or the eject menu option.

Hardy shows an empty window and reports nil space during I/O operations with external storage devices such as Seeagate FreeAgent 500GB USB drive.

There is a thread on Hardy Development Forum describing this read/write error on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=739349.
