No grid displayed

Upgraded to 13.04 frpm 12.10

Started Gnome Mines, choose standard game 16x16, game started, but no grid displayed. When a square is clicked its grid apperas, as do clean neighbouring squares.

Went from 1204 which worked fine, to 1404, which is broken. No grid lines!
