Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-media

I'm running Lucid under a VM without an audio device enabled (without a soundcard) and if you go to gnome-volume-control and check first tab (sound effects) you see that volume slider (to increase and aument volumen) should not been able to configure (if you haven't a sound card detected or other similar cases), please see attached screenshots to understand what I mean.

Input tab works fine here because detected that I don't have a soundcard in my system and disabled the slider.

There is no support for deprecated version having died a long time ago
