Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-media

My apologies if this has already been reported, but the reports I looked at seemed different.

I cannot seem at all to find a particular reason for this crash; some time ago the gnome-volume-control stopped working. When right clicking on the Volume Applet and clicking "Open Volume Control" the program would show up in the bottom task bar then close. After opening gnome-volume-control with a terminal I found it was a segmentation fault. That is all I know, sadly.

This workaround Alsa Bug patch to track.c work well here.

Waiting for the package maintainer to validate this patch.

Here is a patched binary replacement for gnome-volume-control suited for IA32. Use it at your own risks or wait for an updated package.
