Bug Description

When you insert an encrypted USB key drive, a password screen pops up.

Key in the password and hit enter, the mouse pointer shows busy for about 10-15 seconds before taking effect.

This is reproducible on this Lenovo SL500 laptop.

Previously, this data entry would be immediate.

There may be a security implication to this bug.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

In the 28-feb-2012 beta, the behaviour has changed.

The response to password entry is immediate. Nautilus is launched, the mouse pointer then changes to busy (circular) and stays busy for 15-20 seconds.

This is reproducible.
