This happens after setting up my ubuntu-single-sign-on in initial setup, after boot.

Thank you for your bug report, from the log

gnome-initial-s[2458]: Failed to get featured snaps: Failed to read from snapd: Error receiving data: Connection reset by peer
gnome-initial-s[2458]: Error logging in snapd: invalid credentials (snapd-error-quark, 5)

looks like something is wrong on the snapd side as well, even if the UI should handle that case better
