description |
Binary package hint: nautilus
In Karmic up-to-date ,
The Icon shown for drives is wrongly assigned, the drives are shown as mounted even when they are unmounted.
Unmounted media[partitions] should use this icon > /devices/gnome-dev-removable whereas it uses the icon for the mounted drive.
Either the GVFS backend(gvfsd-computer) is sending the wrong signal or the wrong icon has been assigned in nautillus.
Attaching screenshot, note all the partitions are unmounted.
[this was not the case in Jaunty] |
Both the mounted and unmounted internal partitions use the same icon > device-harddisk
While the rest of the external volumes change the icons for the unmount and mount states... only the partitions dont change the icons , it would be ideal to show this change with different types of icons too :)
Since the icons are shown in the computer:/// , panel and side pane, there is no way to know whether the partition is mounted or not. [well , side pane has the eject icon] but the places menu has no distinction.
So the only way to find out is by actually selecting the partition or from checking the properties.
[this was not the case in earlier , where there were separate icon for both mounted an unmounted partitions]
