Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-gmail-notifier

When gnome-gmail-notifier is started automatically by adding it to the Startup Applications the applet starts, but it consistently reports that it is "Unable to check mail". Killing the process and launching the program manually enables it to function as it should.

The bug seems related to wireless network. My impression is that if gmal-notifier starts first then network connection (as for WiFi connection) the check fail and it doesn't work anymore, if network connection starts first (as for cable connection) the gmail-notifier works good.

It seems that libsoup has cached "no such host" result for the target site. The first look-up failed before the network connection(wireless) initialized.

Use the latest version of libsoup(>=2.4.1-16.1) to fix it?
