Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-games

Running up to date Feisty. I wanted to try the new chess game that has been added to Gnome/Ubuntu recently, and in particular I wanted to see the cool 3D view. So I started it, then went to View->3D, but it didn't switch to 3D view, and gave an error message about some missing dependency or something. I attached a screenshot of the error message that popped up.

I must add that outside glchess, 3D is otherwise enabled ands works just fine (3D desktop, Googleearth, oither OpenGL games...).

I think your problem is:
You don't install the required components!
The solve:

Download the software from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/glchess/glchess_1.0.5-1_all.deb?download
and write the following lines into a commandline:
 sudo apt-get install python2.4 python-gtk2 python-glade2
 sudo dpkg -i glchess_*_all.deb

My source:
