quadrapassel game will not start

SYMPTOMS:
Attempting to play the game using the menu Applications -> Games -> Quadrapassel fails to start the game. The cursor spins and stops. Nothing else happens.

Attempting to start the game in the terminal results in:

failed to create drawable
Failed to initialise clutter: Unable to select the newly created GLX context

but not game play.

This failure happens in both VBox installations and Hardware installations.

I'm not to sure, but I think clutter is specifically a GNOME package. I'm using GNOME 3, so I may be different, but searching in Synaptic shows a few clutter related packages are installed. Is it the same for you?

Not sure where you are going with this, but, yes, I do show clutter libraries installed. I would expect that if the game installed, dependencies should have also installed, even if clutter is a GNOME package.
