glchess crashes whe 3d enabled

Bug Description

Binary package hint: glchess

glchess can not enable 3d because of missing libraries! Yet the program is delivered with the option to do so... whe MANUALLY forced to add these (most other users would simply assume that the app sucks and how typical of OSS "bad PR guys") glchess dies:

This is a bug in an external library, please install python-numpy (sudo apt-get install python-numpy)

Ok thank you.. it does not crash now... but it behaves irrationally. Screen
is not updated on resize etc. Compositing perhaps... intel driver.

Yes, there are unfortunately a number of issues between glchess and the video card. Hopefully you will see an improvement when you upgrade to 9.10 (where this specific issue has already been fixed). Thanks for your bug report.
