Gnome Chess 3D mode OpenGL errors on GMA950

Binary package hint: gnome-games

Macbook2,1 with GMA950 chipset. Driver support for GMA950 in Linux is generally poor - Fedora also has massive problems with this chipset. However, it is a very common chipset.

I attempted to enable 3D mode and it told me 'No Python OpenGL support' and 'No Python GTKGLExt support'. So I installed packages python-opengl and python-gtkglext1. I then was able to enable 3D mode. Now Chess sets up a window and immediately exits, without any warning. Running it from Terminal gives the following output to stdout:

Notice Bug #71593 as well. My bug is not a duplicate of what bug 71593 is about, but someone at the bottom of that has recently reproduced the bug that I'm getting.
