Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-dvb-daemon

I am experiencing g-d-d doing very heavy disk i/o and high CPU usage (40% on my dual core system, i.e. 80% of one CPU core) for no apparent reason at all, there are no recordings scheduled or ever recorded. It will go on for hours and more unless I kill the daemon manually.
This happens occassionally, I did not spot any pattern. It happens often after closing a TV application or closing the digital TV control centre.

Attaching a screen-shot for illustration.
Shall I pause the daemon and grab a gdb trace when it is behaving as described?
