Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-do
Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04
Packages:
linux-image-
gnome-do : 0.8.1.3-0ubuntu2
uim-common uim-gtk2.0 uim-utils uim-xim uim-anthy : 1:1.5.3-1
Steps:
1. Summon Gnome Do (Meta+Space)
2. Change to hiragana input (Zenkaku_Hankaku or any shortcut assigned to it)
3. Press the same key as step 2 again.
Expected:
Input mode changed to direct input to allow normal latin alphabet input
What happened instead:
Stuck in hiragana input mode. Typing of valid hiragana input and pressing spacebar will reveal the kanji conversion candidate window, which stays even after pressing escape (which is supposed to cancel a hiragana input).
Current workaround:
Reset uim. This can be done using following steps:
1. Open uim preferences
2. Make any changes to make the Apply option clickable.
3. Click Apply or OK
Now Gnome Do will appear with direct input when summoned.
Extra notes:
linux-image version probably does not affect this bug, as it also happened on my other computer using stock Ubuntu kernel.
