Characters are swapped in firmware version

Bug Description
When viewing the Firmware Version in the Disk Utility some characters are in the incorrect order.
For example, I have a disk with the firmware version 02.03B04
dmesg output displays:
ata8.00: ATA-8: WDC WD2502ABYS-02B7A0, 02.03B04, max UDMA/133
The Disk Utility displays:
02.03B40
