Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility

On starting my Desktop I'm presented with a "Hard disk may be failing. One or more hard disks report health problems. Click the icon to get more information."

While I am certainly familiar with where to look for such an icon, the instructions are extremely vague. In particular, Gnome includes an icon in the dialog box itself. And there are many icons in my notification area. Instructions to look to the notification area would be good. A dialog option to immediately open the interface with the additional information would be better.

I second this. I came across this bug report because I got the same error message, and couldn't figure out what icon it was talking about.

I'm a long time Ubuntu/linux user (command line). Though I havn't used gnome or kde in 3 year.

Your average user would get really confused at that message.

So I agree, instead of:

"Click the icon to get more information.""

It should be something like:

"Click the icon in the notification area on the top right of your screen to get more information."
