Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility

Palimpsest disk utility, a program found in the gnome-disk-utility package report bad sectors on disk while the disk is healthy. Other disk related utility didn't find error. It didn't happen in ubuntu 9.04

I do not believe this is duplicate of bug #412152 which talks about thresholds,
this issue happens to me as well, since upgrading to 9.10 I get a warning for many bad sectors
which I do not believe exist. I get different values every time all in the "pending sector count"
even though I have 0 reallocated sectors.
at one point I also saw a negative value (see screen-shot attached)
