Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-cups-manager

If the cups daemon isn't running and you select Printing from the Administration menu (System > Administration > Printing) you get the message "The CUPS server could not be contacted". It would be nice if you could enable the service from this pop up. Something like "Would you like to enable CUPS" or "Would you like to enable printing". If the package isnt installed it will install all the needed packages.

We have changed the default print management system in Ubuntu from gnome-cups-manager to system-config-printer because g-c-m is no longer maintained. Closing this task.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Wow, that's so long ago I don't even remember how to use
http://LaunchPad.Net. When first I encountered Ubuntu I posted several
questions but never heard anything. Thanks for the followup and good luck!
