Bug Description

Netbook: HP Mini 1120NR

When adjusting the Brightness using System Settings -> Screen the screen will flash randomly. It flashes between full dim, full bright, and a random brightness value or the brightness value of the slider as you drag it.

Sometimes the slider does not move when you drag it; it pops into place when you release it.

This appears to be a lower level issue, maybe attached to how we're talking to the hardware. (Perhaps it's related to how brightness keys change screen brightness at the hardware level without signalling the OS?).

Pressing the "Super" ("Win") key helps me to stop this blinking.
