Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-control-
To change your preferred image viewer, you need to set the file associations for each of the many image types. It would be great to have an option in "Preferred Applications" to set your image viewer. (Change from Eye of Gnome to Shotwell or kuickshow.)
As a workaround, you can use Ubuntu Tweak to set the image viewer: http://
Can that code be moved into "Preferred Applications"?
In my opinion, this is fixed in Oneiric, the latest development release, so this should be set to Fix Released. wiki.ubuntu. com/BugSquad
Oneiric has the new control center from gnome, and the System Info applet's Default Applications section (the same as the Preferred Application was on previous versions) does seem to have a combobox to set the default image viewer, called Photos, see the screenshot attached.
Is this enough to satisfy your needs, and to close this bu ? If not, what else would need to be done here?
