I do know that many other window managers have supported > 5 mouse buttons for years.. most of those since 4.0 of X11R6 first came out. I don't know if putting pressure on TrollTech would help, I don't really buy their reason (Win32 limitations) as anything approaching valid.

However, KDE users have been waiting for > 5 mouse button support for many a year. Is waiting for Trolltech to get off their collective asses the best of ideas? They've clearly stated that Win32 is their target, not Linux (with their comment above).

So.... we should wait until a new version of Windows comes out, hoping it supports more than 5 events, then wait as the years pass, hoping that TrollTech will play catchup to that???

I don't really see KDE lagging behind by 10 years in the mouse usability arena, as a logical target for the KDE community. Am I missing something here?
