Hi,

I'm running 10.04 on a T42 ThinkPad. I'd like to turn off the visual effects in System->Appearance->Visual Effects permanently. Unfortunately after a reboot the settings are back to 'Normal'.

Logging out an in again has the same negative effect. :-(
