Changing from none to normal visual effects crashes gnome-appearanc
This bug can be triggered every time the procedure is repeated.
Attached below are two screen shot of how it looks when the program freezes.
The following is logged into jockey.log when triggering the bug:

This is a regression from Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 where this did not occur.

I can second this. I just upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 and I am having the same issue, when I try to change the visual effects setting from none to either normal or extra the "keep setting" box just gets hung up when I choose keep setting, and none of the change take effect.
