Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

After recent upgrade in Lucid (29-31 March 2010) my mouse pointer reverted to default and I cannot change it back to large whiteglass. Changing mouse pointer properties in my theme in gnome-appearance-preferences does nothing. Before the upgrade (in Intrepid and earlier Lucid) the pointer changed right in place, in real time. I tried rebooting after changing pointer settings to no avail.

Mouse pointer settings work fine in a fresh guest session though so I presume settings format was changed and I am stuck with the old one or something.

Can anybody help? The default mouse pointer is too small for me, I hardly see it. I always use the largest one.

I have a similar problem. Under my customized theme, my selected mouse pointer does not appear EXCEPT when I perform a mouseover, then I see the pointer I have selected, otherwise it is the default pointer.

I don't think this is necessary a duplicate of bug #459647 since, at least in my case, it had not happened on karmic at all. There must be something wrong with the Lucid upgrade or packages specifically.

That workaround is good for the cursor shape, but not the size. :(
