Bug Description

Say I install a new GTK theme and remove it afterwards by clicking "delete" in "gnome-appearance-properties", "Theme" tab. Then there is still the whole data of the theme in ~/.themes. I don't think that this is intended, or is it? The thing is that I also had problems at times when I wanted to reinstall the whole theme again: then the old directory clashed with the new one (they had the same name).

Just wanted to comment I also experienced this: install theme, delete, re-install and error message:
"Can't move directory over directory"

So to re-install I had to delete it myself, but as I did not know where the themes were stored I had to search it first
and finally found them in my home-directory under .themes.
So not that even if a name clashed, it would be nice if the error message include the full path directory name.

As a workaround: deleting the corresponding sub-directory lets me re-install the theme again.

Per <http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=562371#c10> this appears to be committed. The linked bug, on the other hand, does not really match this issue.

When I get a chance, I'll try to patch and confirm fixed myself.

That configuration dialog is deprecated in GNOME3 and Oneiric so closing the bug, feel free to open new bugs about other issues you might find though
