When I restrt or shut down my ubuntu budgie just hangs there and freezes

When I do the restart or the shutdown ubuntu freezes. I used to restart to get into my other distr (have dualinstallation in my laptop) via grub selection. Now, it never gets there (to grub) and I am forced to shut down using the power button.

Next time you are forced to shut down using the power button, please then boot up again and run:

  journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

I have used grub repair from Ubuntu and made changes as described in their

The issue isn't due to the settings interface. Is that still a problem in the newer serie?
