Left-handed mouse setting not retained across reboot

Bug Description

I set the mouse orientation to "left-handed" and it works fine. But after reboot, mouse reverts to "right-handed" despite the fact that System Settings still shows it set to "left-handed". Clicking on "right-handed" setting then back to "left-handed" fixes it.
