Or possibly it is a (known?) error in xresprobe or discover. Can you attach the output of `xresprobe <video-driver>` and attach the contents of your /var/log/Xorg.0.log? Your video driver will be something like 'nv', 'ati', etc. You can find it in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
