Bug Description

gnome-control-center-signon 0.0.13-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu Q

1. Open System Settings > Online Accounts.
2. Select "Add account..." if it is not selected already.
3. Choose an account type.

What you see: A ridiculously large spinner spanning the whole of the window height.

What you should see: A spinner of 4 em or so diameter, as in Ubuntu Software Center when it launches.

Actually, there is a further spinner typically, in the space that is rendered by the online account, e.g. facebook. I don't believe we need two spinners at all.

David King (amigadave) wrote :

The large spinner was a placeholder for the embedded widget (the one with the spinner that you mention) during the scrolling transition, and the commit to remove the transition will resolve this issue as well. Once there is a new release of the UOA panel, both the scrolling transition bug and this one can be resolved.

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-control-center-signon - 0.0.14-0ubuntu1

gnome-control-center-signon (0.0.14-0ubuntu1) quantal; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
    - removed the clutter based transition, it broke the scrollbar and was
      inconsistent with the other panels (LP: #1043697) (LP: #1043732)
    - Selection style in account type list is inconsistent with the rest
      of Ubuntu (LP: #1043724)
  * debian/control
    - removed clutter build depends
