Bug Description

The "Quick Search" function by typing in letters or by using the menu entry is not working. The first typed in digit opens the small command line window at the bottom as expected, all further typed digits are not accepted , the command line window freezes. Escape out of "Quick Search"'s command line is only possible by using left-mouse-click, ESC-key is not working.

Older releases like 1.2.8.5-0 under Ubuntu 10.04 did all this well.

DistroRelease: Ubuntu/Xubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Package: gnome-commander 1.2.8.15-2
Uname: Linux 3.2.0-29-generic
Architecture: i386

I succesfully downgraded gnome-commander from 1.2.8.15-2 to 1.2.8.13-1 and 1.2.8.5-0 under precise 12.04 and the bug persisted exactly as described, the problem might not be in gnome-commander

Thanks Eduardo. I do confirm; did the same downgrade to 1.2.8.5-0 under ubuntu 12.04 and observed the same situation. The bug seems to be outside of Gnome-Commander.

After installing a clean xubuntu 14.04.1 and gnome-commander package 1.2.8.17 no problem at all occures. But after installation of several additional applications (hundreds of packages in one shot) afterwards, I do observe the same problem. --> There seems to be an incompatibility with another package. It's for me to look for the needle in the haystack.

This bug can be closed. It was fixed in version 1.18.0 and in Ubuntu after the release of 1.18.1-1 (in Oracular Oriole).
