Device I've : Nokia 7210 Supernova
Average file transfer rate in Jaunty (I think the gnome-bluetooth version is 0.11.0) was : 190KB/s
Average file transfer rate in Karmic (I think the gnome-bluetooth version is 2.28.0) is : 30KB/s

Hello,

You know speed may vary, depending on the environment.

However, could you try the following:
- Open a terminal
- Type /usr/share/doc/obexd-client/examples/send-files XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX your-file
where XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX is the address of your device.

and try to evaluate the speed of the transfer.

Thanks

Changed in gnome-bluetooth (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low

Tested send-files and had the same (slow) results.

Tested on Karmic and Lucid.

Average speed (taken from the GUI) is around 21/22kb

Please let me know how can I help with the troubleshooting.

Thanks

Hi all, has there been any progress on this or a workaround found? I'm building a service in which users upload images and it's painfully slow compared to Windows with the same hardware (google nexus or any other phone -> Mac mini running Ubuntu 9.10 or Windows).

Well in lubuntu 10.10 it is still slow, it slowens down to bytes and increases upto 30Kb but not more, only for the first file I have seen 180KB rate but not for others when sending multiple files

Another case verifying slow bluetooth on 10.04 and 10.10:

30KB/s on Dell m1530 laptop Broadcom BC2045 bluetooth card transferring to Nexus S.
