Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-art
To reproduce:
Run gnome-art
From the "Art" menu, choose Backgrounds->GNOME
Observed:
A lengthy download is automatically begun, and a progress dialogue is shown ("Downloading background 1/1078"). There is no Cancel or Abort button on this dialogue, and there are no window-decorations either.
Expected:
Should be a method of aborting the download. Any progress-window should appear with usual window-decorations.
I don't know whether this is by design - the missing window-decorations makes it look like something is wrong. The application is effectively "hung" when it is in this state, since there is no way to cancel the download, which could take a long time (several minutes, even on my broadband connection).
Another problem is: the download is begun even if I have successfully downloaded the items previously. I can't just run gnome-app and view the thumbnails that are already there. It insists on re-downloading them every single time. I guess this is a separate issue, but it wouldn't be a problem if I could quickly cancel the download and view the thumbnails already there.
I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 on AMD64, gnome-art 0.2-5

This is so bloody irresponsible and irritating. I can't see how many kbs its using, it doesn't show up in the system monitor, and I can't kill it or quit. Wasting my capped bandwidth!!!!!!
