Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

Using Version: Trash Applet 2.17.1
Distribution: Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 Development Branch, all current updates applied.

After deleting files on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn, the gnome trash applet does not recognize czhanges to the trash folder. Selecting "empty trash" from the context menu is not possible, either.

But opening the trash folder using the applet shows the trash folder with all deleted items and nautilus also presents the expected "Empty trash" button.

Therefore I assume the applet is malfunctioning.

Strange, because I already rebooted my system yesterday, prior to noticing that the applet was not functioning...

Okay, I tried some stuff...
It seems as if the applet starts to malfunction after logging off and on again or after the x-server has been restarted.
It works perfectly after a full reboot.

This problem seems to affect a series of other applets not included in the gnome-applets package, too (music applet, Zeroconf service discovery applet).
