Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I have the same problem as Sean in bug #42853 but I haven't found this bug filled.

When Volume Control Applet slider is in the lowest position applet states that sound is muted but I can still hear some (at very low volume).

Then choosing mute from context menu makes no difference.
I have to move slider a bit up and then choose mute from menu.

This is the output from `lspci | grep audio`.
00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03)

I'm using Ubuntu Edgy.

Thanks for your bug. That looks like the same issue than bug #16454, marking as duplicate. Feel free to reopen if you think that's wrong
