Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

As I turned on the computer today, I found stickynotes lost all information. I had three notes on the desktop, yesterday. All three notes lost their content, their position and their geometry. This is the second time since jaunty is installed that stickynotes behaves like this. Had no problems in earlier versions.
Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to reproduce the bug.

I really don't know. I can't remember doing something special.
Surprisingly, I had the same issue on another jaunty-machine. So, I guess there are more people out there with the same problems. The only "special" about my setup is probably that I often switch between Single- and Dual-Head configuration on both machines. That's all I can say about it.

@Mitsch: did you have to power-off your system(s) without a clean shutdown lately? Or do you have your /home in filesystems other than ext3?

I also lost my stickynotes once (in 8.10 I think). I was experimenting with new graphic drivers and had some crashes and freezes and then after a restart the notes were gone. I think stickynotes is not immune against kernel crashes. It stores all the notes automatically and frequently into one single file. If it gets interrupted by a crash while storing, this file might get damaged or empty.
