Bug Description

Ive done this repeatably, double clicking on the cpufreq applet locks the cursor
in a hand shape, there is no popup, nothing is launched and there is no way to
get a normal cursor back other than by killing the X session, meaning you cannot
launch anything, rendering the current session dead in the water.

Config:
cpufrequtils 0.3-1
gnome-applets 2.12.0-0ubuntu1
libcpufreq0 0.3-1

might be fixed with the cvs now, will need to be tested with the next tarball and edgy

I've rewritten most of the applet. Could anyone check if the bug is still
present in cvs head?

Thanks.

It'd be nice if somebody could check the Edgy vesion and see if it still happens.

I can test this on Dapper if you'd like, I've taken to backporting
packages from edgy sources when it suits me.

that would be useful, thank you for working on that

Well, this was pretty hard to get working because of the dependencies on newer stuff, and I ended up ignoring them whenever I could get away with it, but I eventually got something built with 2.15.2, and installed it. When I left click or double click on the applet, it doesn't lock up, but a menu doesn't pop up either.

Contrast this with the version 2.14.2: when I clicked on that, the applet and the neighboring system monitor applet would stop responding, but only for about 5 seconds. Not as bad as the bug description, but I remember older versions of the applet being worse, to the point where I'd have to kill the panel. Hope this is useful to know.

according to upstream comments it should be fixed to edgy. feel free to reopen if that's not the case
