gnome-app-install crashed with ValueError in _refilter()

gnome-app-install("Applications>Add/Remove") crashes while reviewing/selecting
a package description or selecting a category on the left frame. Does not crash on a constant
basis but rather from time to time

Reproducable: Yes/every once a while
Reason: Unknown

UPDATE: further testing revealed that gnome-app-install is _most likely_ to crash after:
              1 selecting a package for install
              2 deselecting this package
              3 changing the category (i e from "Office to Games")
              4 -> crash
