After succesfully installing Adobe AIR by following the instructions provided by Adobe at:

The Add/Remove applications list empties (all available applications are erased, nothing is shown) and one must do a reinstall as suggested in:
http://
To solve this issue you must reinstall gnome-app-install. Please do notice that this is an upstream bug that would be solved with next Adobe Air Release.
Using:
gnome-app-install 0.5.12-0ubuntu1
Ubuntu 8.10
Intel Core Duo 2 64b.

I can confirm that I have experienced the same problem. The suggestion of the reinstall mentioned at the link above solved the issue for me as well. If more information is required, let me know and I will provide it.
