Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-alsamixer

With IDT92HD73C1X5 (Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 05)) in a Dell Studio XPS 16 with Intel Core i7 720QM (karmic amd64), earphone jacks (dual) are not working properly. Sound through built-in speakers works fine. This happens with ALSA and therefore, also with PULSEAUDIO. Mixers show an earphone bar to adjust the volume, but no matter how I adjust this bar, there's no sound.

I have updated to latest driver through ubuntu backported drivers, because before this I was unable to hear something through the built-in speakers nor the earphones.
