Gnome alsa mixer fails to load on raring ringtail 13.04 beta

while trying to find out the output of "apt-cache policy pkgname", it resulted in

N: Unable to locate package pkgname

I upgraded from 12.10 to 13.04 (not fresh, just upgrading online). there was no error message during upgrade process. after that, clicking on alsa mixer icon does not result in anything. while replying to this, consider me novice in handling linux.

it does launch when opened via terminal. but thegui does not open.am I missing something?

I can't reply this bug, I have added an image where you can see there is not any problem. I modified values and everything works OK.

Maybe I am missing something, so if you have more details, please let us know

The screenshot you are referring to is achieved when you open alsamixer
from terminal. But i am talking about opening it by directly clicking on
alsamixer icon.

I think you're referring to the Gnome alsamixer package?

For now the only workaround I've found is to use "alsamixer" via terminal.

gnome-alsamixer doesn't open by click icon
