Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-plugin-gnash

Noted on Kubuntu Gutsy on a 64 bit system.

Firefox does not find the installed Gnash, but keeps offering to install the missing plugin. Attempting to have it reinstall Gnash results in the message that the package has already been installed. Restarting Firefox does not help, but opening the page in Konqueror does work (although there is no sound).

The system is a fresh install of Feisty, dist-upgraded to Gutsy. Gnash and its Firefox plugin have worked before.

The flashplugin-nonfree package, offered as an alternative by Firefox, will install, but is not recognized afterwards either. But given the long standing problems with the Adobe Flash Player on 64 bit systems, I more or less expected that.
