glom: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_python-py34.so.1.58.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

In Ubuntu Xenial, glom does not start:

$ glom
glom: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_python-py34.so.1.58.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Presumably it needs to be rebuilt against the newer libboost_python-py35.so.1.58.0 .

Hm. that looks really bad, cause i thought we did drop python 3.4, but we may have missed all or some of the boost py3.4 things =( sigh.

I am having the same problem installing Glom on Linux Mint 18.

I just tried installing today on Ubuntu 16.04. I get the same error. Is there a fix yet? Or some type of workaround? Thanks.

I just ran into the same thing after installing glom on Ubuntu 16.04. I am trying this

cd /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/
sudo ln -s libboost_python-py35.so.1.58.0 libboost_python-py34.so.1.58.0

as a workaround. I don't know if it will be effective, but it allows glom to start and create a database.

My workaround appeared to work, but there were multiple issues in actual use, so I don't recommend it.

Running linux mint and I get the same issue. Is there a fix yet? I realize that Glom is not a large production software, but its handy to create db's test before going large scale.
