Bug Description

gnome-panel freeze when adding glipper.
when I restart the xserver, the panel that I was adding glipper to is missing.

I then stopped the xserver:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop

ctl alt F1 into a console

mv ~/.gconf/apps/panel ~/.gconf/apps/panel.suspect

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start

Then a default panel is back.

For future debugging i have a backup of my ~/.gconf/ folder so i dont loose all my settings if i try add glipper when a bug fix comes through.

For now using:
sudo apt-get install parcellite

I have tried to re-create this bug setting up a second user with the panel identical, with same programs running, but cant get it to hang and panel to vanish.

Attached a tar of the .gconf/apps/panel folder (before adding glipper, if i do it will hang and vanish when logging back in)

On next note will add a jpeg of panel.

Ok, more testing on original user account that would hang and panel disappear..

I added glipper again, when it hung and took 100% of one of my 2 cores, I let it run

After about 60 seconds the cpu return to normal.

I then had 2 x glipper show up on the panel
I deleted one, logged out and back in again.

Now all is well and panel does not dissaper on log-in.
(It did after aborting (ctl alt backspace) glipper add when cpu goes 100%.)

Not sure what to make of it all, but if one lets glipper add run at 100% till he is done, then it works.
(This anomaly only shows up on my one login, not the default one)

I can confirm this in Ubuntu 9.10 with glipper version 1.0-1.1ubuntu1.
Glipper causes 100% cpu usage after I add it to gnome-panel. It also causes gnome-panel to freeze up and sometimes even crash.

After I kill the process, I get a "The panel encountered a problem while loading OAFIID:Glipper...." error dialogue.

And isn't this a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glipper/+bug/213494 ?
